In the heart of Port Vila, at the northern end of town next to the Rossi restaurant, there is a hidden gem, which attracts clientele worldwide. It’s named, The Lighthouse.

Owned and managed by ex-pat Kiwi, Romana List, it offers some of the rarest and most exquisite gifts from both Vanuatu and around the world. Romana has sourced the globe for quality homewares and it reflects in this stores great feeling you get as soon as you walk in the door. From the fragrance of the tropical candles, the cool music (although some may beg to differ) and of course the breathtaking store décor.

And it’s not just for the ladies. There is a large collection of quality model planes, boats and cars. Backed by a selection of globes, bronze sculptures and intricate knick knacks, for the gentlemen.

Romana studied and worked in Australia before moving to live in London for 10 years and traveled extensively throughout Europe, taking in the different cultural styling and architecture that the Continent has to offer.

Working for a large development corporation, Romana specialised in the acquisition and redevelopment of old pubs and rare buildings. Amongst this, she fitted in time to study for a degree in Property Economics and additional studies in Interior Design - her one true love.

She has bought this wealth of knowledge and experience to Vanuatu to share with both locals and tourists alike. If you want unique gifts, interior design or décor ideas, drop in and say hello.

Make sure you find time to visit The Lighthouse and be rewarded with the experience.

Thank you for shopping local and supporting small business! x
